Aaaaand, on to day 3 :)
The Days:
1. Something old
2. Something new
3. Something you made for someone else
4. Something you made just for yourself
5. Something for a large fandom/pairing/character
6. Something for a small fandom/pairing/character
7. Something you're just really proud of
Day 3: Something you made for someone else
I love getting the chance to write a story for someone else... almost as much as I like planting plot bunnies in others' heads. :D
One of the things that I participated in last year was the surprise birthday stories for
embroiderama. We each picked an age and wrote a story where Neal was turning that age and gifted them to her, and it was so much fun. I loved reading everyone's stories, but I also really enjoyed writing mine.
When Neal was Fifteen was set in the Stand by Me/Lost Boys 'verse, which I really love to write in, and featured a sick Neal trying to act like he wasn't sick and then clinging to Peter. I know how much E likes sick!fic, so that was my focus when I started it, but it turned into a cool fic. Most of the characters didn't get a chance to say or do much, but I feel like I got to show a little piece of each of their personalities. It's a challenge to write the characters as teens but with their fundamental personalities - it's also been a lot of fun.
