Last day of the Positivity Meme :)

1. I just got a betta fish today. He's a crowntail betta who is mostly blue but his fins are a rainbow of awesome colors. I've been acclimating him to his tank for the last hour or so, and I finally got him put in there, so he's happily swimming around and stretching his fins after living in that tiny cup at the pet store. I got him a 2.5 gallon home :) He doesn't have a name yet - I'm open to suggestions!

2. It's the weekend. I love weekends. Getting to sleep as late as I want and chill without worrying about work or anything else. It's lovely.

3. The weather was very nice today. A little on the humid side but otherwise sunny and pleasant. My mom told me that winter is predicted to be pretty nasty this year, so I'm soaking up all the nice days that I can. :D

1. White Collar has allowed me to connect with all of you and to find my muse again, and I will always be grateful for that. I think that today is a good day to put that into prospective.

2. I was going to save this for tomorrow, but I want all of the positive WC-related things today - Matt Bomer. He's gorgeous, he's a crazy-talented actor, he has dedication like no one I've ever seen in my life, and he's brilliant. Some of the interviews he gave during the lead-up to the Emmy's were mind-blowing. He's simply amazing.

3. I really can't talk about WC and Matt without also adding Tim DeKay. He too is gorgeous and an amazing actor, and I've had so much fun watching the chemistry between him and Matt grow and evolve over these seasons of White Collar. They work so well together no matter whether the scene is comedic or dramatic or somewhere in between. Tim is so wonderful to watch on screen - he lights up a room (unless it's a dramatic scene and then he blows it away). So much fun!

I'm finding it difficult to write this post today because my mind has been occupied with the anniversary of September 11th. Thirteen years have gone by and I still cry when I see it mentioned or when I read an article about the memorial service.

I wavered on whether or not to do a positivity meme today, but I think that having three positive things to focus on will be helpful.

1. Sugar - I'm currently loving SweetTarts again, but I'm a sugar fiend on the best of days anyway. Also, the Franken Berries have come out, which makes it one of my favorite times of year. I LOVE Franken Berries.

2. IRC Chat - It's a joy getting to speak with fellow WC fans in our little WCWU chatroom, and we have a lot of fun sharing story cookies or art pieces, or even working out plot issues and writers' blocks. Much love to you all!

3. One of the most positive things that I get to experience with you all is sharing stories and receiving feedback. I love the feeling of accomplishment that comes with posting a new work, be it short or long, and then getting a response back from readers. It's even more exciting when it's a story that's unconventional or out of the ordinary for me - I was so nervous to post Redraw the Lines (the first Neal Hughes story) but the response has been so wonderful.

How is it that I'm having trouble coming up with things on day two? *facepalms* Work has been exhausting, and I have to start early this morning, but I wanted to get this up before the day got going.

1. Speaking of work, overtime pay is definitely a positive in my life right now. I didn't manage to take lunch yesterday either (but I did scarf down a couple of slices of pizza while waiting for a query to run).

2. It's time for fall TV to start, which is always an excitement in my little world. I haven't mapped out what I'm watching yet, but I will need to do that soon so I can program the TiVo.

3. Air conditioning is kind of the bomb. Do people still say 'the bomb'? Anyway, I spent last week with family in a hot and humid place without AC, so I'm very excited to be back in my condo where there is AC. Despite the fact that it isn't really hot today here - it looks like it'll rain, actually.

1. Fandom friends, who are amazingly kind, sweet, fun people to hang out with and write or talk writing, Bomer, DeKay and a host of other awesome things. I miss you all!

2. All the fandom writer friends whose minds have been invaded by my prompts - art or otherwise - and bunnehs and casual mentions of dessert vans. I love you all dearly for putting up with the epic promptiness of my evil superpower.

3. The artists of our community who inspire us, who surprise us with gorgeous userpics and banners and covers, and who encourage our creativity.
