I'm not sure if anyone is still around these parts, but I just saw the news and wanted to share it with the WC fandom. Willie Garson passed away per Deadline and many other news outlets. His son Nathen posted a very moving tribute on his Instagram. RIP Willie

Hi all!

Sorry for the late start on this, but I had to go in search of toilet paper so that I could stop being anxious about that and move on to more fun activities.

I'm going to post this Drabble/Ficlet Meme both here in DW/LJ and on my Tumblr. All responses will be posted on the respective platforms and also on AO3 in some manner that won't be spammy.

Rules: In the comments, leave me the name of a character and a noun (place, emotion, thing, whatever). You can also specify a verse or story, if you'd like - AO3 is up-to-date with all my stories. I'll write you a drabble/ficlet.

Welfare Check

Hi all!

I don't know how many of you are checking DW/LJ these days; I admit that I haven't checked in a while. Since we have all mostly moved on to other fandoms and other platforms, I'm not sure how many of you this will reach, but I wanted to say hi (Hi1) and that I hope you are all safe and healthy.

I'm planning on taking Wednesday off of work to decompress from the stress of getting all our employees set up remotely and developing procedures to allow for remote processing. I've worked remotely from home for about 8 years, but the actual office is located in LA, so most of the office staff is in new territory with setting up their own home offices.

One thing I would like to do on Wednesday is an old-school comment drabble/short fic meme. I haven't written WC in a while, so I'm nervous about it, but I thought it would a fun, creative thing to do and share. I'm desperate for creative outlets. I'm not sure what the best platform is for it yet, but I will post here when I figure it out. I imagine it will be here or on Tumblr (authorangelita) or both. Please let me know if you have any other places you hang out these days. I also have a pillowfort that I just remembered.

Matt posted on Instagram that today is the 10th anniversary of White Collar! The pilot aired on October 23, 2009. It definitely doesn't feel like it's been that long.

Notes: I apologize for the 5 year wait for this story. I was inspired to write the next part, but when I went back and read through the entirety of Bookstore, I realized that I never finished and posted this story. It’s a tough one, but it has a happy ending.

( The next morning, Matt woke and immediately wanted to die. His back was stiff and sore, so much so that he didn't think he could move. He glanced at the clock and saw that it was already 7:15. He was supposed to open the bookstore by 9:30, but he wasn't sure he'd be able to do it. )

H/C Advent Help Request

Hi all! I'm thinking of writing my WC H/C Advent story in the Neal Hughes/Redraw the Lines verse. I've written one holiday story in the verse, Christmas Eve Comforts, where Neal is sick and the Hughes family takes Christmas to his apartment.

I have a couple of ideas for the fic, but I don't think I've hit the right one yet. If there's anything you'd like to see in the verse, let me know in the comments :)

Dylan O'Brien - Interesting Articles About Recovery

I went back through my posts from March of 2016, but I didn't actually make a post about this - I must have only talked about it in chat. Dylan O'Brien somehow became my most prevalent celeb crush around September of 2014 when I saw the first Maze Runner movie and then binged Teen Wolf (Stiles FTW!). In March 2016, he was severely injured in an on-set accident while filming a stunt sequence for the third Maze Runner movie.

At the time, there was very little detail about his injuries and a lot of rumors about how bad it was. Now that his new movie American Assassin is hitting theaters on September 15th, he's been doing a lot of press and has finally talked not only about his injuries but about the recovery process and panic attacks he suffered in the aftermath.

There are two really interesting articles about it that came out this week. I highly recommend them - they paint a vivid, heartwrenching picture, while at the same time highlighting how he overcame his fears and panic to commit to a stunt-intensive movie like American Assassin.

Taylor Kitsch Talking about "Matty Bomer"

So, as my header suggests, I adore Dylan O'Brien, whose new movie "American Assassin" comes out on Sept 15th - YAY! Taylor Kitsch is also in the movie, and he was in Normal Heart with Matt. As part of the press he's doing for AmAs, he was on "Wake Up" this morning on Sirius, and the subject of celebrity crushes and then Normal Heart came up. (Source [Starts at 4:05])

The interviewers were asking if the ladies on Battleship had crushes on Taylor, and then someone asked him if Jim Parsons had a crush on him during Normal Heart.

Interviewer: What about Normal Heart? Did Jim Parsons have a crush on you?

Taylor: I think I had a crush on Jim. And Matty Bomer. I can't be more of a fan, of those two guys especially. Matty Bomer is, god, he's one of the nicest guys. And incredibly funny.

To recap, Taylor calls him Matty and has a crush on him. LOVE! Gives me Bookstore feels :D

I'm trying to motivate myself to write again despite work sucking my soul out slowly, so I signed up for an H/C Bingo card.

I didn't do any fills on my card last year, and I only did one the year before (with a TW fic of all things - didn't realize it had been that long since I got into that show), but I'd love to do at least a line this year. I'm not going to lie - most of these prompts scream Teen Wolf at me. There are some that are very WC too though: isolation, runaways, fall from grace, family, and some of the more generic medical conditions, of course :)

American Assassin Trailer

There's not much of a Teen Wolf/Dylan O'Brien fandom on LJ/DW, so I haven't really posted about it here. But TW is coming to a close, and Dylan has already moved on. He's working on more adult-oriented projects, including American Assassin, based on the Mitch Rapp book series by Vince Flynn.

The teaser trailer was released today, and it is AMAZING! Michael Keaton, Sanaa Lathan, and Taylor Kitsch (as the mysterious villain!) co-star. If you enjoy action movies, I definitely recommend giving it a look.

Updated Masterpost

I'm working on making my DW a little more homey :) One of these days, I'll even get the theme updated to look more like my LJ did (I like that theme, and I know I have instructions around here somewhere.)

I updated my fic Masterpost today with AO3 links for all stories and the other LJ links were changed to DW links. There are some other things I need to cleanup there (meme roundups still point to LJ, for one), but I don't know if anyone else actually looks at those, and I think I've put them all on AO3 anyway.

If anyone is interested in updating their Masterpost to AO3 links, I found an excellent bookmarklet on the AO3 unofficial browser tools page that downloads the metadata for your AO3 works page with title, link, etc. The only thing it doesn't export that I think would be helpful is the summary. My Masterpost already had the summaries, so all I really needed was titles and links. Anyway, let me know if you'd like a link/tutorial for the bookmarklet.
